Personal Injury and Criminal Defense.
EXPERIENCE: Mr. Jones focuses his practice on plaintiff’s personal injury and criminal defense. Plaintiff’s personal injury work may include product liability, car wrecks, slip and fall, and medical
malpractice. He is experienced in state and federal criminal defense for cases including murder, drug offenses, fraud, sex crimes, driving while intoxicated, arson, battery, RICO, etc. Since 1995, Mr. Jones has been a La Porte County deputy public defender representing defendants charged with felonies in the La Porte Circuit Court. He is also a Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney (Northern District of Indiana; South Bend Division) representing defendants charged with crimes in federal court.
EDUCATION: Mr. Jones received a B.S. and M.S. from Indiana University. He is a graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law.
BAR ADMISSIONS: Mr. Jones was admitted to the bar in 1993 (State of Indiana, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the Western District of Michigan and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals).
AWARDS: Mr. Jones was selected by his peers to be included in the The Best Lawyers in America (2008 to 2010). He was also listed as one of “Indiana’s Top Lawyers” in Indiana Business Magazine (2008 and 2009).
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS: Mr. Jones is a member of the Bar Associations of La Porte County, Indiana, American and Seventh Circuit
(General Chair - Committee on Technology), Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, Indiana Public Defender Council, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and American Association for Justice (Criminal Law Section Executive Committee; Newsletter Editor). He is also a life member of the National Rifle Association and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
